Tharaka D. Perera is Ordained Priest

Deacon N. W. P. Tharaka Dinindu Perera, CMF was ordained a priest on 18th of May, 2017 by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe, the Bishop of the diocese of Galle.  The ordination ceremony was held at St. Joseph´s church, Wennappuwa in the diocese of Chilaw.

Fr. Tharaka Perera entered St. Claret Seminary on 15th of January, 2002.  After completing his school studies entered to the National seminary of Our Lady of Lanka for his Philosophical studies.  He entered to the Philippines Novitiate in September, 2009 and made his first profession in October, 2010.  Later, he completed his Theology at the National seminary and made his final profession on 8th of September, 2016.  8th of December of the same year he was ordained a deacon and served at St. Francis Xavier´s church, Nuwara Eliya.  May he enjoy meaningfully the priestly life for the rest of his life by being a real servant of Christ in the footstep of Fr. Anthony Mary Claret.

Visita de animación a Polonia del Prefecto General de Formación

Varsovia, Polonia. El Prefecto General de Formación realizó una visita de animación a la Provincia Claretiana de Polonia del 8 al 15 de mayo. Visitó a las comunidades de formación y mantuvo un diálogo con los formandos y formadores. La primera comunidad visitada fue a los novicios, después a los postulantes, y por último, a los profesos. La Provincia de Polonia tiene 34 formandos, 12 de ellos están en Polonia mientras que el resto está en África.

Durante el encuentro y el diálogo personal con los formandos y los formadores, se plantearon y discutieron varios temas. Entre las muchos y diferentes temas aparecieron los siguientes: la misión universal, el llamado a la vida intercultural, la misión compartida, la actualización del Plan General de Formación, la próxima Escuela de Formadores del Corazón de María en 2018 y la Beatificación de los 109 Mártires de España en octubre de este año. Las motivaciones que atraen a los candidatos a nuestra Congregación también fue un tema que se planteó en las conversaciones. Otros temas importantes fueron, por ejemplo: la vida comunitaria, la dimensión mariana, el contacto con los misioneros claretianos, la predicación, el retiro, la vida misionera y nuestra contribución a la vida consagrada.

La visita culminó con la misa dominical en la Parroquia Claretiana de Wroclaw y una reunión con el Gobierno Provincial.

En 2018, la Provincia de Polonia celebrará su 25 Aniversario de su Fundación. Los Claretianos de esta Provincia ya están mirando hacia adelante y preparándose para este evento trascendental de su Organismo, que ahora sirve en varios países a través de su personal y su esfuerzo misioneros.

Formation Animation Visit to Poland

Warsaw, Poland. The General Prefect of Formation went to Poland from May 8 to 15 for an animation visit. He visited the formation communities and held a dialogue with the formandi and formators. The first community visited was the novitiate, followed by the postulants’, and lastly, that of the professed. The Province of Poland has 34 formandi, 12 of them are in Poland while the rest are in Africa.

During the encounter and personal dialogue with the formandi and formators, several issues were raised and discussed.  Among the areas covered were: universal mission, the call to intercultural living, shared mission, updates on the General Plan of Formation, the coming Heart of Mary School of Formators in 2018, and the beatification of the 109 Martyrs of Spain in October this year. The motivations drawing candidates to the Congregation also surfaced during the conversations.  As with the other provinces, these included: community life, strong Marian dimension, contact with a Claretian missionary, preaching, retreat giving, missionary life, and our contribution to Consecrated Life.

The visit was culminated with the Sunday mass at the Claretian parish in Wroclaw and a meeting with the Provincial Government.

In 2018, the Province of Poland will celebrate its 25th Silver Foundation Anniversary. The members are already looking forward and preparing for this momentous event of their organism, which now serves in several countries through their personnel and missionary endeavors.
