Institute for Religious Formation:  Empowering Formation Leaders for a Global Church

If you or someone you know is looking for a unique opportunity to prepare for the role of formation director in a diocesan seminary or religious institute, consider the Institute of Religious Formation (IRF) at the Catholic Theological Union (CTU) at Chicago. Today, more than ever, formation in religious life both initial and on-going is critical. Healthy, whole and integrated persons are needed to accompany those preparing for religious life or priesthood as well as current membership. This is essential for the future of the Church.

Living, worshipping, and studying together, IRF participants model the way of life we would hope to be present in communities of formation. Through this process, they have the time for lasting integration.  When they leave the IRF, these women and men not only have the skills and tools they will need, but they also have the confidence that comes with experience. This makes them competent and effective in their ministry of formation and in other ways they are called to serve.

The Institute of Religious Formation at CTU has been a trusted source in formator preparation for over thirty-five years with more than 1,700 graduates. For more information about IRF or to obtain an application visit Catholic Theological Union Web site at www.ctu.edu under continuing education.
