Priestly ordinations in Nigeria

550The solemnity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary which was well prepared in the different Claretian communities and parishes this year was celebrated together by all in the Provincialate at Owerri. The celebration was coupled with the priestly ordination of our 6 missionaries.  Achebe Anthony, Ekong Patrick,  Mmuo Matthew, Obilo Marcellinus and Ukata Emmanuel are from the province of East Nigeria while Opara Kenneth is from the West Delegation.

The presiding prelate was Most Rev, Dr Callistus V. Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu where a good number of Claretians are working in our formation centres and two parishes. The occasion was graced by the presence of many Claretians, priests, religious as well as the parents and relations of the ordinandi. Fathers Simeon Nwobi, the provincial and Matthias Iheonu, prefect of apostolate for the West Delegation were present. The Bishop highlighted in his homily that those to be ordained remain faithful to their vocation to build their faith and those of the people.
